Perming has made a comeback...

...with modern texture services becoming increasingly popular across both hairdressing and barbering.

This hands on workshop focuses on building confidence with contemporary perming techniques, helping learners create natural movement, improve consistency and better understand the complete perming process from consultation through to finished result.

Designed to support both emerging and experienced stylists, this workshop combines strong foundational skills with practical, salon ready application.

We work alongside current industry training pathways while also supporting qualified hairdressers and barbers wanting to introduce or refine modern texture services.

• Apprentices wanting to strengthen their confidence and consistency in perming

What You’ll Learn:

• Consultation and contraindications for perming services
• Hair analysis and determining suitability for perming
• Understanding sectioning and classic winding patterns
• Rod placement, tension, and consistency
• Building confidence with the classic wind technique
• Introduction to brick winding for learners who confidently complete the classic wind
• Product application and processing principles
• Safe neutralising procedures and understanding the purpose of neutralisation
• Evaluating and refining the finished result

How the Day Runs:

• Small group, hands on training
• Live demonstration with clear, step by step breakdown
• Practical workshop completed on mannequin
• Real time correction and individual coaching
• Learners complete a full perm result from consultation through to finish
• Additional educator support provided where required

Mannequin Information:

• A high quality 100% human hair mannequin is required for this workshop.

Participants may:

• Bring their own mannequin (recommended: Real hair - medium/short length), or
• Purchase one from SalonED at cost

What to Bring:

• Full Hairdressing kit
• Hairdryer and styling tools
• Notebook and pen
• Mannequin (if not purchasing through SalonED)
