Solid form and increased layers are two of the most important haircut structures in hairdressing. Once you understand them, so many other haircuts begin to make sense.

Join us for a practical, hands on workshop where you'll strengthen your cutting foundations, build confidence and develop skills you'll use every day behind the chair.

Whether you're preparing for assessments, building confidence or simply wanting stronger cutting skills, this workshop has been designed to help you better understand the "why" behind every haircut.

Whether you're a Year 1, 2 or 3 apprentice, an emerging stylist, a qualified hairdresser wanting to revisit your foundations, a barber looking to strengthen long hair cutting techniques, a salon owner investing in your team, or a hairdresser working from home, this workshop has been designed to meet you where you are.

If you've ever found yourself wondering, "Why isn't this haircut sitting the way I expected?" this workshop is for you.

What to Expect

Together we'll explore the foundations behind solid form and increased layers, helping you better understand shape, balance, weight distribution and the building blocks behind great haircutting.

We'll also focus on practical body position and ergonomic working habits, helping you refine techniques that support both greater precision and a healthier, more sustainable career behind the chair.

Unlike many cutting workshops, you won't simply watch a demonstration and then be expected to recreate it on your own.

Instead, you'll work alongside your educator through a carefully guided learning process, giving you time to ask questions, refine your technique and build confidence as you progress.

Training is completed on a mannequin. Bring your own quality medium to long real-hair mannequin, or purchase one from SalonED at cost.
